“Excellent summary of Merida on the day we arrived”
Great tour by Max! WE had just arrived in Merida that afternoon, Max gave us such a fantastic introduction to Merida, its history and its struggles. He took us into places we would never have gone - ncluding government offices with amazing paintings by the artist Pacheco, and the Grand hotel with its history. Max is a great story teller and held everyone engaged. Came away feeling a bit less of a stranger who has just landed in Merida! Highly recommend!

It was so neat to have someone of Mayan decent as our guide and he even went to the university that he showed us. We really enjoyed the free walking tour with him. We red on some separate blogs that’s it’s good to tip $5-$10 per person so we did that.

According to us the guide was nice, spoke good english but was not very good prepared. E.g. he left us most of the time alone in the government building to read ourselves the written explanations of the paintings. Questions were not really answered in a way we expected from a guide.
Maybe he is just not experienced enough.
Fortunately we had other great tours and we still like to join one wherever we can.

I am a full time nomad. I travel all over the world as a pet sitter and I see these free tours everywhere but this is the first time I have ever been on one. Now I’m hooked! Oswaldo was a fabulous guide! He was so sweet, considerate and so knowledgeable! I found all the spots we visited interesting and the narratives fascinating!
