Join this tour through the heart of Évora. Discover Roman temples, majestic churches, and streets full of history in a walk that connects you with the essence of this Portuguese jewel.
I'm Yani, an architecture student, and I invite you to a different walk: a route where history is mixed with legends, architecture, and small details that often go unnoticed. Our tour starts strong, in front of the Roman Temple, a silent symbol of imperial power. Then we will go up to the Sé de Évora, a granite cathedral that looks like a medieval fortress. We continue along Rua 5 de Outubro, where the facades narrate centuries of history and the tiles still keep the color of the past. And we arrive at the vibrant Praça do Giraldo, where once there were bonfires of the Inquisition, and today there are cafes and smiles. There I will tell you stories of bravery, rebellion, and a fearless knight: Geraldo. Afterwards, we get away from the hustle and bustle to discover the Igreja da Graça. And as a finale, I take you to a place that leaves no one indifferent, the Igreja de São Francisco, where the bones speak without saying a word. A tour full of anecdotes, surprises, and new views of an ancient city.
