Coimbra Downtown Free Tour

I'm José, Portuguese, a graduate of the university & living in Coimbra for over 20 years. We'll start at the Manga Garden, then will visit Santa Cruz church (inside and out), once part of a big monastery. You'll explore what once was the city's main entrance, the Almedina Gate, and the St James Church and learn more about Fado de Coimbra. At Portagem Square, you'll get to know Coimbra's patron saint and learn about its history. To make it easier to understand the city's history and attractions, I use supporting materials such as photos and diagrams. This tour is ideal for those who don't want to climb the city's hills, especially in the heat of the afternoon, as it includes the main attractions downtown. In the end, we'll receive a handy sheet with useful information about the city. Please notice that due to religious services, we may not visit the inside of the Santa Cruz Church.
