In this Berlin Wall Free Tour we will be able to answer three questions; why the Berlin wall was built, what it meant to live during the 28 years of physical division that the city suffered and when it fell. Without a doubt, there is no better city than Berlin to understand the Cold War, a history so close that we can still talk about it in the present, and where we will be able to verify once again that the history of Berlin is the history of Europe.
During our 3.30h walking tour, we will visit the Palace of Tears (Tranen Palast), the Nordbahnhof Ghost Station, or even monuments such as the Bernauer Strasse Memorial or the Museum of Wall Documentation. We will also visit the Church of Reconciliation, and as a final touch the popular East Side Gallery-
Berlin Wall Free Tour, an essential tour to understand the history of Europe in the 20th century. We will learn about the role played by Berlin, the city in the eye of the hurricane, in this silent war between the two world powers, the US and the Soviet Union, which almost ended in a Third World War.
