Things to do Free Walking Tour Around Stockholm Old Town

Welcome to Gamla Stan - where old meets new. Our Walking Tour gives you a nice walk through our Old Town, where we cover both of the two main islands: Stadsholmen and Riddarholmen. The tour will be informative, efficient - and a nice addition to your time in Stockholm! You will learn about the Old Town's past and present, architectural details, what life was like living in the Old Town/Stockholm back in the days, the importance of the German trade during the medieval days (Hanseatic league), and more. Since Gamla Stan is considered one of the best preserved medieval Old Towns in Europe today our focus will be around the medieval time, but we also cover post-medieval contexts, as well as the Viking period. The tour takes around 2 hours. After the tour you will receive a text (to the number in your booking) with your guide's own personal list of local recommendations & hidden gems around town - don't miss it!
