Discover two incomparably wonderful medieval cities on our Bruges and Ghent Day Trip from Brussels, the perfect opportunity to find out why Bruges is known as “The Venice of the North” and Ghent as “The Flemish Jewel”.
In the company of our experienced English speaking guide, our trip begins in Brussels and we will be directed to Ghent, a perfectly located place, only 50 kilometres away from Brussels and Bruges. A short wander will lead us to St. Bavo’s Cathedral (church that houses the renowned Ghent Altarpiece “Adoration of the Mystic Lamb”, painted by the Van Eyck brothers), we will then see the Castle of the Counts of Flanders, we will also walk along the popular Graslei quay, and much more!
On our arrival at Bruges, we will be welcomed by the swans in the idyllic Lake of Love (Minnewater), where we will come across the Beguinage, and we will then follow the canals to explore the city. We will contemplate the stunning Market Square, with a surface of one square hectare, surrounded by historical both civil and religious buildings. Prominent among them are the St. John’s Hospital, the Basilica of the Holy Blood, the gothic Bruges City Hall and the Church of Our Lady, the second tallest brick building in the world.
