I booked a tour with a spanish speaking guide because i don’t sleak portugese.
Fabricio reached out to me the day before the tour to make sure everything is fine. The morning of the tour fabricio was on time at my hotel and picked me up there instead of the original meeting point, which i appreciate a lot. He is a very warm and gentle person, making sire you feel alright.
During the tour i noticed fabricio kept explaining everything in portugese. I asked him to explain the tour in spanish, as i had booked. Unfortunately it became clear he didn’t speak spanish since i asked him several times to switch to spanish.
Altough we did visit several beautifull places, i felt i have missed out on a lot of information about belem and it’s history.
Half way the tour i also felt the guide was waiting for me where to go next and i felt i had to ‘guide’ my guide. I didn’t feel comfortable with this and made it look a bit unorganized.
Also during the tour i had to pay entree fees and uber to get to places. These where small amounts but it should be mentioned on the website.
Overall i enjoyed the tour but unless a spanish speaking guide can be confirmed by the operator, i wouldn’t recommend to book this tour to anyone who select a spanish guided tour.
Also i want to request the toir operator to remove the spanish language option from the website iftoi can’t provide a spanish speaking guide. It avoids future disapointments for other customers.
Best regards,
Jeroen
