LGBT+ Manchester Walking Tour... "How Did Manchester Get So Bloody Queer?" Explore Manchester’s world-famous Gay Village with queer historian Josh and uncover how this city became a queer capital. We’ll wind through monuments, memorials, street art and legendary pubs, hearing stories of LGBT+ Mancunians from underground Victorian drag balls and ‘secret’ gay languages to today’s activists and local RuPaul stars. Expect a mix of history, gossip, politics and camp. Josh is a native Mancunian with an MA in LGBT+ history, founder of 'Free Manchester Walking Tours' and an experienced oral historian. At the end, he shares tailored insider tips for queer bars, clubs, cafes and things to do. Key info: When? Most Saturdays (check our calender), usually at noon.
