Today we took a walking tour of "Welcome to Hamburg: old town tour" with Savvy as our guide. Even though it was rainy, Savvy kept us well sheltered. The tour was highly interesting and he told us things we didn't know —so much so that we plan to explore more of the places he recommended. For example, he suggested visiting the Elbphilharmonie plaza (the balcony), which we already did and thoroughly enjoyed the incredible view! We had a great time and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hamburg! Well done Savvy!

“Amazing Guide Savvy”

I had one of the best walking tour guides ever experienced. He was not only funny but also vastly knowledgeable about places and their history. He also gave us treats for every correct answer we gave which is something I have seen for first time in any walking tour. It felt really interactive! He also told us about the daily Wasserlichtkonzerten on summer evenings at 10pm in the Planten un Blomen park, which we would not have known about. This was a great outdoor experience!

“Options with no options? ”

We arrived at Lessing Dentmal at 9,57am, said hi to the guide "Sabi". Waited for around 15 mins. Then he told us (me, mu friend and 2 other people) that, because some people didn''t come, he would not do free walking tour because we were onlu 4. But he said we have options like we could come tomorrow! (I was leaving Hamburg that evening), we could join one 'paid tour" etc. Time and keeping promises is the most important thing for travelers. When I said, " there is actually no option, I am not happy to hear what you say. In lots of countries I joined free walking tour even with 2 people, it never canceled after the tour starting time! He was little agresive and also got defensive like "it was not his fault or it was'nt the company's fault, either etc. I guess İt was mu fault ????by saying "I am not happy". His approach was strange, when I shared my opinion he even didn''t listen to other people. then he said he will do the tour. I really didn't want to do the tour anymore but when he insisted we decided to stay. It was an annoying start, I lost my good mood. I paid more than he deserves at the end but overall it was a negatife experience. I also prefer local guides who lives in the City for a long time and really feeling a sense of belonging to the city.

Savvy is Very nice guide. Clear in his information and very friendly. I would have liked to have some momens inside some of the sites we were walking along. Like the Rathaus in Hamburg. Especially because it was very very cold and we stood sometimes ten minutes or longer on the same place listening to information and meanwhile freezing. We got good advise from Savvy to visit al the sites later. But i would have preferred to divide the time so we could see more of te highlights from he inside.

It was our first time in Hamburg and we knew very little about the city, so we wanted a tour that would serve as a good introduction.
