Discover Gdansk! is an informative sightseeing route emphasizing history, architecture, and culture. We start our tour from the Green Bridge, in the very heart of the old port. It is where red brick gates, terraced homes, and cobblestone streets provide a backdrop for tales about the times long gone. Our town was a witness to times of grand prosperity and great misery, times of destruction and reconstruction, blazing fires and fireworks on display, times of tolerance, and times of persecution, hope, and despair. How many states attempted to control it? Who lived in Gdańsk throughout the centuries? How come we had the Crusaders here? Not only you guys can expect answers to such salient questions but we will try to sprinkle some entertainment into the tales. Do yourself a favor and join the tour in the morning or in the afternoon. When on the Green Bridge, look for an individual with a red Doppler umbrella.

This walk around Gdańsk was brilliant. We had visited a few times but wanted a bit more history. Our guide Martin was first class. Lots of history but given in such an amusing and interesting way. I can't praise Martin enough, he was superb. I love Gdańsk but he added to it. Two hours flew by.

Our guide Martin (Macurik) was excellent. He certainly knew his subject material and his passion for the city showed. Was my 5th visit to Gdansk, and I learnt a few things that other walking tours hadn't covered before. All the stops were fairly close so not long walks between them, meaning more time spent on listening\learning about Gdansk rather than walking. Higley recommend this tour.

“Amazing Informative Tour!”
We arrived on a Monday when none of the tourist information centres were open so booked on this tour to give us an overview of the city and boy did it deliver! Marcin our guide was so knowledgeable, friendly and charismatic. We learned so much about the history of gdanzk and the tri city area. it has enabled us to plan the rest of our days in the city. I would highly recommend this as a first stop on any trip to Gdanzk, to get a lay of the land and find local insights into the town. Thank you Marcin...now to find a jopenbier!

We spent 4 days in Gdansk (from Denmark).
In order not to get lost in our lack of knowledge of Gdansk, we joined a 3 hour walking tour guided by Martin (BUDGET Walking Tours) through the streets of the old town around the old harbour.
We can highly recommend Martin as your guide. Martins personal engagement, his knowledge and humor made this walk a positive experience. Martin from the first moment creates a good atmosphere in the group thanks to his extraordinary communicative skills and his personality.
After the walk we had a much deeper understanding of buildings, places and history of Gdansk. A huge thanks to Martin!

The guide we had (Martin) is clearly passionate about the city and knows many local legends and characters. But we lacked more contextual info - history of the region, city, wars, kings, reforms. Instead, we got too detailed information about old buildings - which can be nice but not when it's half of the tour.

I recently had the pleasure of taking a walk around tour of Gdansk's Old Town, and it was truly a delightful experience. Martyn our host was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the area but also infused the tour with a delightful sense of fun and enthusiasm.
From the moment we set off, it was evident that Martyn had a genuine passion for the city and its rich cultural heritage as he regaled us with fascinating stories and anecdotes along the way.
Martyn had a knack for making the historical facts accessible and engaging whilst keeping everyone in our group captivated throughout the tour.
The walk was thoughtfully paced, allowing ample time to take in the sights, ask questions and take photos. .
Overall, I can't recommend this walking tour highly enough.
