Things to do Cave Walk Tour into two caves of Budapest
Budapest is the capital of caves. It is the only capital in the world which has caves of significant size and length underneath its buildings and streets. More than two hundred caves are known under the Buda side of the town. The hydrothermal caves of Budapest were created by the same thermal springs that supply the famous spas of the capital. This walk is a relaxed way to explore two very spectacular caves, (the Szemlő-hegyi and the Pál-völgyi Caves), both of them are walkable on safe paved paths and are lit by spotlights. We will visit the "Underground Flower Garden" of Budapest, named after its characteristic mineral concretions, and a dripstone cave: a labyrinth of narrow passages and hollow spaces - a petrified world of fabular stalactites and stalagmites and amazing rock-formations. We designed this tour for those who want something more active and less touristic than museums and ruin pubs. This is a moderately active tour, where participants need to be ready to climb some stairs and ladders. This tour is for small groups, with English guiding. The temperature in the cave is 10 °C (50 °F) all year, the experience doesn't depend on the weather. Age limit: minimum 5 years.
