Christmas Markets in Budapest
After treating your taste buds, head for the Christmas market located in the Town Hall Square. Countless Christmas stalls are found here selling traditional hand made products and decorative items; this is the best place for discovering the origins of the Advent Wreath and finding out how Hungarians welcome Santa Claus not to mention their very own way of celebrating Christmas Eve.
Later, walk towards Deák Square which hosts another wonderful Christmas market where you will be able to sample some of the most traditional dishes of the country at this time or the popular mulled wine. The best is yet to come. For the grand finale, wander around the city´s market par excellence and the biggest of them all. It stretches over Vorosmarty Square and only the best artisans display their finest specialties here The square features an enormous Christmas tree as well as hosting several events which fill the square with excitement.
Contemplate Vigado Square and discover what New Year’s Eve means to Hungarians and how they make New Year´s such a special day. Walk towards József Nádor Square and the famous Hungarikum where we will be able to purchase some gifts.
