Things to do Budapest Darker Sides & Giant Street Art Free Tour
Explore Budapest through its alternative cultures on a 2 hour small-group walking tour of the sights and historical landmarks that other tours rarely show you. Go deeper into Budapest’s art scenes, mural paintings, and statutes and explore the present and future, rather than the past. Head away from the main tourist hangouts to explore Budapest's Jewish district, where the city’s alternative culture is kicking off. Learn about, and visit ruined bars and how the city developed after the World War. We will visit: Main murals in district 7 Szimpla Kert ruin bar “colorful city” arts Memorial statues in the Jewish quarter Famous abandoned buildings - District 7 has a strict rule about street art, hence graffities are not part of the tour, as they usually disappear by next morning. - but there is plenty of beautiful art to show you while walking around :-) Looking forward to seeing you on my tour! :) **Please note due to my changing school schedule, sometimes my lovely colleague Burak will do the tour for me**

“Ok but could be better”
First the guide was not the woman who is mentioned on the website. Unfortunately he did do a greeting round like I am used to with these kind of tours.
The meeting point is not ideal, because you will be walking for 10 minutes for the first stop.
The street art will be only about big street pictures. No graffiti or something else.
It is ok but I expected a bit more.

Had an amazing time on the street art tour around the Jewish quarter with Burak as our guide! “‘Hidden’ art”
Our tour guy was Burak. He was brilliant. His tour is different from other tours as he does a mixture of history, fun facts, and art. Also has a good knowledge about Hungarian culture and people. You do not notice all these art around you until someone like Burak point them out. I definitely would recommended to join him while you are in Budapest.

We went on the Freetour led by guide Zsanett 'Alternative Street Art, Budapest'. This was a two hour tour and was extremely enjoyable, mainly due to Zsanett's excellent guiding. She knew how to perfectly pitch fascinating information and factual background with just the right level of humour and modesty so that her very warm personality shone through. I was impressed with her sensitivity and appreciation of the history of the area and the buildings, albeit showing some concern about parts of it being slowly changed with modernisation. The tour was therefore very interesting and is highly recommended.

Zsanett / Janet is so authentic and friendly, love her humor and the locations and stories she showed us were spot on. Highly recommend (and I hardly ever book touristy sightseeing tours)! Zsanett showed us some incredible street art around the city center that were link to Hungarian culture and history. Our guide was a great speaker and full jokes to kept us focus along the tour. Our group was quite small so it very appreciable. At the end Zsanett brought us into a ruin bar where we had a memorable night.

This was a nice experience. Zsanett was not our guide as she was off, but nevermind.
We really enjoy this tout as it is really different than all the others that we did. Also we were a small group of 9-10 person that was great.
However, the meeting point could have been closer from the start of the tour as we walked about 10min without any information. We also think that the tour could have been longer as there was so many other paintings and history to tell.
But that was really great in a whole, thanks a lot for it !
