Things to do Free Tour Stockholm: Östermalm and Swedish Society
Welcome to Östermalm, the modern downtown of Stockholm. In this Walking Tour of Östermalm, we will focus on modern and contemporary history; we will start with the upcoming of the Swedish Empire and talk about the fall against Russia in the early XVIII century. During this tour, we will talk about economic and political development and how Sweden became the modern European power that it is today. We will mix social aspects such as religion and the welfare state system with fun and interesting stories like the Stockholm syndrome, scientific innovations, and the assassination of Olof Palme. There are limited spots, so please book in advance! In case you come with a group of 6 or more, contact us for a private tour.

Tour guide was Sebastian who was very knowledgeable, entertaining and engaging with w life sense of humour. He covered both historical and economical aspects of modern Sweden and brought interesting examples from wider historical and political perspectives. “Fantastic tour with great overview of Stockholm and Swedish soci”
This has been one of the best tours I have ever been to and I am a city guide myself. Sebastian was great, he was a real 'well' of interesting information about the city and contemporary topics on Swedish society (welfare, tax system, happiness index etc.) which makes it interesting for everyone (also, all ages). We heard the whole story behind a Stockholm syndrome and were in front of the building where it all happened, saw a spot where Olof Palme was assassinated and heard a detective story behind it etc. We finished by the beautiful building where Nobel prizes are awarded and a very nice market hall is situated just across the square. Fantastic tour and Sebastian was superb, I would recommend to everyone!

Para conocer la parte más modernas de la ciudad está genial y además lo volvimos a hacer con Stefano con lo cual muchísimo mejor.
Sin embargo coincidimos con el otro guía Arturo que por los comentarios ya he visto es muy popular pero ni a mi marido ni a mi nos gustó nada su humor ( de hecho pensamos que iba bastante sobrepasado....) pero para todo hay gustos claro.

Considering that this tour is not exactly professional, I didn't have many expectations. Few landmarks were visited, not much information was given, but it did last a good two hours at a reasonable pace. The South African guide (a student in Stockholm, not a local) made up in enthusiasm what she lacked in knowledge. No regrets for participating.

Fue el segundo tour con Arturo y de nuevo un acierto. Todo lo que explica es interesante y su forma de contarlo hace que se pase el tiempo volando. Muy recomendable.
