Monumental piazzas, baroque marvels, and priceless paintings will reveal their deepest, darkest secrets. But in all this enchantment, we shouldn’t forget the main thing: we have a murder to solve! This is a story of the life and death of one of the greatest painters who’d ever lived- Michelangelo Merisi, aka Caravaggio. Why he’s remembered as the Bad Boy of Baroque, and what makes him so special? Why so much drama in his life and his paintings? Who were his friends, lovers, and enemies? But above all, we’ll try to find out who killed him. It’s when the exploration of a city turns into an investigation of a 400-year-old murder case. You can’t be too sexy to enter the churches-shoulders and knees must be covered. The itinerary: -Piazza della Minerva -Pantheon -The Senate of Italy (Palazzo Madama) -San Luigi dei Francesi -Sant’Agostino -Caravaggio's House -Palazzo Borghese Large group reservations of more than 6 people, even under a different name, are NOT allowed and will be rejected. Groups of more than 6 people must book a private tour. - Shoulders and knees must be covered to enter the churches.

We've moved to Italy and I am trying all the tours...paid, group, private, free, etc. all over southern Italy to have an idea of what is good to do when friends and family visit. I really enjoyed this tour, Who killed Caravaggio. It is different and engaging while also walking you through Rome. Simone was excellent and brought the life of Caravaggio and in turn the culture and politics of Rome during the 16th/17th century alive. I would highly recommend Simone on any tour!

“Who Murderd Caravaggio?”
I did not know what to expect from this tour. I thought it would be just a fluffy evening tour about the seedier stories of Rome, somehow tying into a murder mystery of one of the famous Italian artists. What we received, however, was an amazing, well-researched art history lesson on the style and significance of Caravaggio's art and life. Simone was so knowledgeable and well-researched that he could have kept teaching us about Caravaggio for hours! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and wish we were in Rome long enough to take more tours from him. He also recommended a fantastic restaurant for us, Giganti, in Campo de' Fiori, where Soli took extraordinary care of us! One of the best meals we had in Rome!

“Unmissable tour ”
I had heard about this tour on a podcast and decided to try it on a whim. It really didn’t disappoint. It was around 2 hours but it went by so quickly. There were many facets to it so I never felt like I was getting bored or that it focused on one thing for too long.
It takes place within a small area so there’s not a huge amount of walking involved. You get to hear about Caravaggio’s background, why he’s so important and all the incidents that led to his death.
Our guide Simone was funny, well-spoken and incredibly knowledgeable. I really feel like I understand the paintings we saw and like I know so much about Caravaggio now. Even my boyfriend who isn’t particularly interested in art loved it. It's well worth your time and the guides definitely deserve their tips.

“Super interesting and surprising story”
My best friend and I decided to do this walking tour with Max because it already sounded interesting, just by the title. All the tours in Rome cover the tourists spots, that we have seen anyway and often those profiles are just not for us. We were surprised to see a tour about Caravaggio (who I like) and with the criminal twist. Max is absolutely fantastic in storytelling and creating the suspense.
