“A wonderful introduction to Rome”
We took this tour while waiting to check-in after flying into Rome that morning and it was the perfect introduction to this fabulous ancient city. Justin, our tour guide, met us precisely where and when the Free tours/Scandic Tours app advised and led us through the city from Pantheon to Vatican while keeping us in the shade as much as possible in this scorchingly hot Rome August day. Justin has degrees in ancient history and it was clear that Rome is a passion of his. He shared its history, culture, quirks, changes, and funny anecdotes on this highly entertaining walk which was over far too soon by the time we reached the Vatican. Fortunately, we had also booked a Scandic Tour of the Roman Forum area the next day ... and had another two hour walk with Justin!! Perfect.

“Abigail Rome Free Tour ”
We did the free walking tour with Abigail and it was awesome! Everyone on our tour cancelled because of the heat and Abigail still showed up and gave us a tour for just us. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the city. She pointed out so many things we never would have noticed in the city and answered all of our questions. She was very mindful of the heat and got us water and shade any time we stopped to chat. I would definitely recommend this tour!

Good tour, Justin was organised, courteous and available to answer any questions. He is clearly interested in the history and location and that showed. The only feedback I may consider was how to perhaps address the pro-church and European bias that it may have had. As a fellow history interested person, decolonising how we think and frame historical accounts could be a consideration (e.g. saying Australia had not been discovered is not correct, but to say it had not been discovered by Europeans would be). But not one that overall detracted from an excellent tour. Thank you!

“First time I have been disappointed with a Free Tour”
We had three people on the tour and the guide provided basic information, most of which we could have easily gotten on Wikipedia. In contrast with other Free Walking Tours, we felt we did not hear stories or interesting insights about the culture or the sites we visited. Our guide (Abigail) was a perfectly nice person, but the content was lacking and she did not have stories to help the facts come to life.

Since I was travelling with my 87 years old mum, she always had an eye on her reduced the speed and really took care.
