Near Pico Ruivo we walk through the oldest heather forest. These ancient trees are many hundreds of years old and were already there when Zarco landed on the island for the first time. Pico Ruivo, the highest point on the island, is only footsteps away – be delighted and amazed by the magnificent views over the island.
