“First disappointing free tour, more like lecture ”
Ana-Elisa stood in front of the palace and in front of the monastery from 11am-12:30pm. Sure she talked but standing without seeing anything else was boring. Belem tower is covered with hoarding. I wanted a tour, not a lecture. My husband and I left at 12:30, knowing she was only going to one more place. Very disappointed.

My friends and I are really pleased with the tour provided by Claudia
Not gonna lie we were mainly there to taste the famous and OG Pastella de Belèm, but we got so much more. With each monuments and places that we visited, she gave us the history of the city. She was funny and passionate. She even made it possible that we could visit the kitchen where they made their famous egg custard. It is worth it to taste it. Thank you Claudia! We had a great time.

“A very unusual tour”
Ann-Luisa was amazing! We had the worst weather ever, rain pouring, strong wind blowing. Some people even gave up, but we've decided to give it a chance. And we did right! The weather got better, then worse, but Ann-Luisa made it work. This actualy helped us - the group was very small, which enabled us to make a better connection with our guide. She struggled through the weather with us, she was very informative and knew a lot about the history and some small details that made the tour even more interesting!

A friend and I took the Belem walking tour. The directions to where the tour starts were very clear. The group was was the right size so interaction was easy. Our guide Samuel was very informative and he took time to take us inside the church which was part of the monastery and also gave us time to sample the famous pastels de belem. All in all it was educational and enjoyable.

“Belem disappointment”
Walter the guide was very knowledgeable and a nice guy, but it was too much dialogue. Talking for the first 35 mins, then long sessions of dialogue throughout the tour meant that the number of places visited appeared short. If the dialogue could be shortened, and additional places added, I think it would be a great tour. It would also be better if the mention of payment was not continually repeated along with the offer to escort you to a ATM. We all understood that the tours survive on donations.

Jose was our guide and he gave us a good overview of the history of Portugals exploration of Africa, Far East and Brazil. He took us to all of the sights in Belem, again explaining about each place and advising when s the best time of day to visit.

Today I had a wonderful and very interesting tour around the Belém area with a guide whose name is Sara. She is very familiar with the topic and history not only about Belém but about the history of Portugal in general. She could manage to provide all the necessary information about that in a very simple but deep way without overloading someone with dates and names and she repeated all the important information several times so that you could really keep the information. Very interesting really!!!!

We had a wonderful tour of 2 hrs and 15 mins with Sara. She has so much interesting insight and knowledge, and enthusiasm. We learned so much about Portuguese history and Lisbon, as well as about the sites in Belém. There was not a lot of walking and it was all flat. I highly recommend her tour!

I really enjoyed this tour - our guide Thelma did a good job. The tour was really informative, fun, with lots of interesting facts provided (especially about food products, where they actually came from!). Thelma was really engaging and enthusiastic, despite the fact that some tourists in the tour were one of the most grim people I've ever seen who could never crack even the smallest smile (sorry, I just don't like this type of people).

Mala experiencia.
Gasté 8 euros para llegar desde saldanha y lo suspendieron por falta de gente .
No los recomendaría.
Llegué 10.50 según sugerían y a las 11.10 se suspende.
Pésimo.
Me ofreció la guía hacer un tour privado y nos cobraba a mi marido y a mi 50 euros.

After a hiccup - only 3 guests showed up & the company required 5 for the tour to proceed - we had an almost private tour with Shir. She was animated & shared a wealth of information regarding Belem & Portugal's colonial era when the country was a maritime superpower. I was a but late for the tour, but was still able tk join. It was informative. I was enjoying it until my friend and I got left behind. We had to look for the group and they did not wait for us. We might have been stranded if we did not know the next monument we were going to look at. For that I didn’t love it, because why would the tour move on when some people were misskng?
