The tour will bring you alongside the river Corrib, from the sea to the beginning of Loch Corrib. The tour will delve into ancient Irish history, highlighting Ireland's Salmon and marine life. We will discuss Irish folklore, stories, and knowledge from an angler's perspective, as well as information and facts from a scientific viewpoint. Weather permitting, I may show you wild salmon migrating upstream! Along the tour, you will be brought to significant areas on the lower Corrib, each containing its own stories and history. Locations we will visit and discuss are : The Spanish Arch The Galway Claddagh, containing the famous Galway Hooker boats The Salmon Fishery Watchtower Anglers post along the river The old salmon traps where salmon were once harvested The Salmon Weir Bridge The Salmon weir I have been a local in Galway for almost 5 years now. I've spent 5 of those years as an angler chasing the Atlantic Salmon on the River Corrib, and some of the 4 years of my university degree studying the migrational habits of the Atlantic Salmon in Ireland. My life revolves around fish, and I am excited to share my passion and knowledge of the Atlantic Salmon.
