H C Andersen and Søren Kierkegaard are two of maybe five best-known Danish persons ever. Who were they, and how was Copenhagen from 1800 to 1870. Book this tour now and get acquainted with the inner life of Danish Culture as they still influence contemporary Danish Culture.
We start at the town hall at “Rådhuspladsen.” We look at the statue of H C Andersen and hear about his life and fairytales. We continue along H C Andersen’s Boulevard, peek into Tivoli, and hear about its inspirations from H C Andersen. We then walk to St Petri’s Church and Vor Frue church. Then we stop at Kierkegaard’s home on Nytorv. We then walk to: “Agnete and the seaman” in the canal and at the stork fountain. We hear about these tellings of H C Andersen.
We walk down the statue of Søren Kierkegaard in “Bibliotekshavnen.” We hear about his life and his philosophy.
We walk to the Royal Theatre (Gamle scene - det kongelige teater) and hear about Søren Kierkegaards aesthetical, ethical, and religious stages. Also, we hear about the connection between Søren Kierkegaard and H C Andersen. We will walk through Nyhavn and see where both of them live.
