Things to do Sunday Special Tour of the historic center of Bologna

We will start from Piazza De' Celestini where we will talk together about Lucio Dalla, continue to the historic center and then Piazza Maggiore and the Neptune, the Two Towers and the main streets of the center and then continue to Piazza Santo Stefano where we will admire the 7 churches, after which we will move to Via Indipendenza where we will see Corte Isolani and discover the Legend of the Arrows. The tour will then end near Piazza Maggiore, right in the historic center. The tour is free but tipping is strongly recommended

“Bologna Tour”

The tour was good and the content was good. Giacomo was enthusiastic but I am used to more humour from these tours. We spent a while talking about Italian food which others enjoyed. I liked some of theinteresting points he pointed out.

“30+ People & No Microphone = Can’t Hear Anything”

The tour was unfortunately overbooked, with more than 30 people in the group and no microphone or audio system. For a tip-based tour, more people isn’t always better. We are typically very generous tippers, but we ended up leaving because we simply couldn’t hear anything the guide was saying. On top of that, the guide continued speaking not once but twice while church bells were ringing, which completely drowned him out. Obviously he can’t control when the bells ring, but it would have helped if he paused until they stopped or timed the walk between them. Given his knowledge of the city, it seems like something that could be anticipated. It was frustrating because we had planned our day around the 11:00 a.m. start, and instead of getting a useful tour we ended up leaving early and feeling like we wasted part of our day. Honestly, we would have preferred not being able to book the tour at all so we could have planned something else.

“Puntualidad”

El chico era muy agradable pero llegó tarde, ya estabamos un grupo grande esperando. Había mucho ruido en las calles, cosa que no depende de él pero escuche menos de la mitad. Tal vez unos audífonos ayudarían. Lamentablemente los perdí en la última parada, no pude darle propina al guía, en verdad ya no los vi, una disculpa de mi parte.

“Great 2hour tour through the City Center”

We last minute booked the free walking tour, to receive some more information about the most important attractions or rather historical spots in Bologna. Giacomo was in time (or rather 15min early), relaxed, funny and open for any questions. I’d highly recommend the tour, as it met our expectations to the fullest.
