I can’t recommend this free walking tour with Alex highly enough! From the very beginning, Alex created an incredibly welcoming and relaxed atmosphere that set the perfect tone for the experience.
What really stood out were the captivating stories he shared about Athens' long and complex history. He didn’t just give us dates and facts—he brought ancient ruins and old neighborhoods to life through vivid storytelling and fascinating historical anecdotes. Whether it was the dramatic events of ancient battles, political intrigue in the birthplace of democracy, or everyday life in classical Athens, every stop was packed with insight and delivered with enthusiasm.
Alex also showed us some wonderful hidden corners of the city that we never would have found on our own. It was the perfect mix of famous landmarks and local gems. His explanations were clear and engaging, and it was easy to see how passionate he is about his city.

This was a very nice tour. It's a mix of interesting chapters from history, stories about the city, and some fun facts. The walk is not too long. It was very easy to listen to Alex, as he speaks with a true interest in the topics. His genuine and humble sense of humour was also nice.
All in all very nice tour if one is looking for interesting historical facts packed into concise stories, in a short walk through a cozy part of the city.
It also shows that the tour is organised with care for the visitor in mind, as most stops have some shadows and places to sit down.

“Walking Athens with Alex”
Our walking tour with Alex was excellent. Alex provides a unique experience which is what made the difference to other walking tours. (This is my 3rd this year already) His tour is full of historical stories beyond the usual tourist spiel. Alex is very keen to share and he is deeply immersed in the history of his city. He takes you to hidden areas of Athens you would not come by yourself.
Alex has so much knowledge and he also provides additional information and tips about the city and places to visit beyond his tour.
Alex is very pleasant company and has great respect for his city and it's people. (All along the route people from all backgrounds seemed to know and like him).
I would highly recommend this tour and his additional recommendations. It was informative concise and fun.

“high level”
Alex is thoughtful in giving tourists a philosophical view of the sites we visited. He also offered tips on where to eat, see sunset views of Acropolis, and swim to end the tour. I enjoyed the tour and would recommend for anyone who wants to get a high level overview when visiting Athens the first time.

“Nice walk around Acropolis”
Alex is a guide with extensive historical knowledge. He approaches his work with great dedication. The tour was a very pleasant, intimate walk around the Acropolis, with a special focus on Anafiotika, which is a very atmospheric place. Without a guide, we wouldn't have imagined that these beautiful, narrow streets could be explored, but without the noise, with respect for the local residents. We learned many interesting things and had a very enjoyable time. Alex also gave us many interesting tips about further exploring Athens. Thank you Alex and greetings from Poland.

“A philosophical tour”
I love that Alex combines ancient Greek history with Philosophy in an interesting way, you can have a view of the ancient Greek world and compare it with the modern today. The route is scenic and peaceful, the tips for the next days are very helpful
