“Superb and entertaining walking tour of Valletta ”

Ben gave very clear instructions on how to spot him and where we would meet him. Even though the weather was poor (it was raining heavily) Ben found some trees under which he gave us the initial information before the walk started. He was very entertaining and informative. We laughed out loud at sure of his jokes. He also gives you some personal insight into Maltese history, and covers issues from both sides. We enjoyed it so much we have signed up for his tour of Mdina and Rabat at the weekend. I would highly recommend this tour.

The two hours pass by quickly. You can tell that Ben is an experienced tour guide and loves his job. Useful, precise information wrapped up in a good amount of humour is what you get. “A Must-Do When in Valletta”

Ben is a great guide, and showed us around Valetta with humour and great knowledge. He answered everyone's questions patiently and despite the large group size, everyone was included. Given how much information he shared, and the places he showed us, it would be better as a 2.5 hour tour - that's my only complaint... The last 20 minutes felt a bit rushed. But this is a must-do when in Valletta - even if it's just for a day. This is a perfect way to get acquainted with the city, Malta, and he ended with some great recommendations!

He is an expert in what he does and I really wanted to go on the tour he was providing the next day, but unfortunately I had tickets to the hypogeum at that time!

Ben was our guide in Valetta. The tour was very nice and he told us a lot about Maltas and Valletta’s past and present. He put most of the historical information in small stories with a modern scenery (Catholic Church as toxic partner in a relationship) so that everyone will understand! We were quite a big group, however Ben managed that everyone got the information and gave the chance for questions. In the end we got a list of recommendations for restaurants and activities. I totally recommend to do a walking tour with Ben.

I do think that the tour was useful and interesting. However, I find that a lot of time was lost on some comparisons and examples that have nothing to do with Malta or whatsoever. I would've liked more facts, more stories about Malta and that the tour lasts a bit longer. The guide is very knowledgeable, and I wish he shared more of facts and stories and focused less on making jokes and examples. None the less I did enjoy the tour.

“Disappointing”

The tour was well-organized but we didn’t enjoy the content very much. We think too much time was spent on giving superficial anecdotes about Malta (movies filmed in Malta) and “funny” comments (comparing the Protestant Reformation to a toxic relationship) instead of focusing on historical and cultural information. It’s nice to have some relaxed or amusing moments during a walking tour, but we feel like there wasn’t a good balance between them and more serious content.

So glad that I saw other reviews that said they had been on multiple tours with Ben, as I chose to do that also. They were in the evening which was nice (starting to get cooler - but still hot!) and Ben was still very considerate about where the group would stand in the shade, etc. Ben is very knowledgeable, relatable, and made the history interesting and funny. He's great at building a rapport with everyone and was very open to questions while also taking care of the entire group. One of the tours was a large group, one was smaller - he was excellent with both. Definitely made my trip to Malta worthwhile, and if I am there again I would take Ben's third tour!
