Our Valletta Free Tour is the perfect introduction to the city, as our guides will help you orientate yourself and point out all the main landmarks. We do not believe in simply repeating boring facts but will keep you entertained with fascinating true stories of murderous plots, scandal, and intrigue. Please note that the free tour runs at 5:00 PM on Wednesdays and 10:00 AM on Saturdays.

“Great way to orient to Valletta and gain some insights”
Mathew was adapt at giving us some insights as to Valletta, starting with story of City Gate, Parliament and open air theater ( Italian architect who designed the Shard in London etc ). And walk gave us sense of some of the highlights to take in later on our visit. Alas, weather turned nasty and by end many of us we’d caught and drenched in downpour.
Some recommendations from one who does walking tours throughout planet on my many international and even domestic travels:
1. Just in case people cannot find exact spot to start, have guide hold up umbrella to see….i was with a few folks standing at wrong side of staircase referenced in instructions to start. Fortunately I walked around and saw guide in yellow raincoat with small group so led us to him.
2. Lots of information shared by Mathew…it would be helpful to have short handout of key info conveyed or in alternative a web link sent to participants after walk ( which also serves to prod for ratings/feedback and promo of other walks ).
3. Weather…common sense is be prepared, but it was clear several folks on walk had not been ready for drop in temperatures and then heavy rains. It would be wise to at least remind folks of the variable weather Malta experiences especially in winter.
4. Allowing the guide to on site sign people up for other tours offered would be an added plus.

We had the 1,5 hours walking tour with Mateo. It was well organized and useful information shared. I have to admit that it was a pretty large group (more than 35ppl) so it was a bit demanding/difficult to follow sometimes. Mateo was a great guide, well informed and educated, so it is highly recommended if you are in Valetta :)

A good taster tour to discover Valetta. The guide spoke clearly, and gave a very good insight into this very beautiful city. It's only a shame that this tour wasn't a little longer.
I always use Freetours as my go to tour guides, and Malta was just as good as similar ones in other countries.

Guide was excellent - just the right length 91.5 hrs) - and evening was perfect temperature. You miss so much just walking around on your own. I had very little prior knowledge of Maltese history - this tour was very informative and took. us to parts we would not have discovered. Would certainly recommend. Thank you.

Nice tour to do, you walk to the main attractions but in my opinion is too fast. The tour info said a length of 2:15 h and it was 1:40 h max.
It's difficult too enjoy the view and take pictures when the guide doesn't stop. The explanations were great but a slower pace would be better.

We had a fantastic experience on the tour of La Valletta that I did with my 20-year-old son, guided by Tracy. Initially, we had booked the Spanish tour with Maika, but her group was quite large, so we volunteered to switch to the English-speaking tour.
