Things to do Valletta City Walking Tour
Meet your guide at the entrance of Valletta next to the New Parliament Building, on Freedom Square. The guide will have the City Walking Tours Malta sign or a red umbrella. The guide will give a brief introduction to the city and then proceed for walking tour in Valletta's historic city center. During this walk you will discover at a leisurely pace, learn how it all began, how the city evolved through the centuries and about the events which shaped Valletta into the city that it is today. Whether you are a first time visitor or you want to delve in deeper, our fully guided tour will not disappoint you. “Not worth it”
The guide shows little interest in the group. Not once did she ask if we had questions or even crack a smile. When you asked her a question she would show little interest in answering it. She seemed to be rushing at times. Spoke to others after the tour and they agreed. Been to many walking tours but this is by far the one where the guide seemed like she disliked her job. Wouldn't personally do it again even if it was free. She didn't even give any sort of suggestions like places to go to (e.g. Restaurants etc). I know those things are optional but we finished the tour early so it would have been nice.
The good thing I will say is that she does know a lot about the history. So the content is good in that sense.

“Great Tour”
Angela was very informative.
We really enjoyed the tour, worth every penny.
We were given headsets, which was useful, the walk was not too demanding. We got to see a lot of things that we may have missed if we hadn't gone on the tour.

“Historic Trip to Valletta”
Tour was well organized with head sets. We also had two short stops with a possible bathroom break and to buy water. The speed was quite nice. I would have really liked more tips for dining and spots to go. Overall I well organized tour and a great tour lady.

“Happy with the tour”
The guide (Nadine) was great and shared a lot of interesting facts about Valetta. Duration and the route was really good and allowed to see the most important sights. Online payment was not clear with the split of online/cash payment. Would like to hear a bit more about modern history though. Overall, would recommend!

“Great guide”
We were in Valetta for four nights and on our first day had booked a walking tour with
Freetour. Very easy web site and reasonable price. Our guide Nadine was easy to find with
her red umbrella. Only five in our group which made the tour very easy and Nadine was a
pleasure to listen to, full of facts and enthusiastic. Two hours went quickly and she even gave us some restaurants to visit away from the city centre. The ones we tried on our own
without the advice were pretty awful. Obviously just catering for tourists.

“Great Introduction to Valletta”
The tour starting point is super easy to locate, just inside the main gates of Valletta. tour lasted for almost two and a half hours and covered the main sights in centre of Valetta. Guide was great (maybe Nadine) and gave lots of history, traditions, info on architecture and was willing to give other advice to travellers about their stay in Valletta.
We saw the cannon firing from down on the waterfront. Good value for 12 euros. I might add that there was a couple who booked the donation only tour the day before and no-one showed up.

“Great walking tour”
We struggled a bit to find Freedom Square as it does not seem to be marked on any maps but found it via google maps. Angela was very knowledgeable and informative both on the history and everyday life in Valletta. The tour was a good length - just over 2 hours and Angela always tried to stop in the shade as it was very hot! My only criticism was that I would have really like to be in the area of the cannon firing at midday - as we completely missed that event. All in all a good tour and well worth the 12 euros.

“Valletta city walking tour”
Angela was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. She brought the history of Valletta to life and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
My issue was the organisation as I was never advised that she would be holding a red umbrella and no one I asked knew where Freedom square was so I was very stressed trying to find her. Just sending directions via google maps is not good enough and no phone number to contact the guide was a concern.

“Good tour”
All in all it was a good tour. Sometimes it was too loud and other times our guide was unfortunately a little bit too quiet. She was friendly, informative and funny.
The sign she is holding could be prettier, maybe a small flag or something like that.
Also in the end we were not quite sure about the remaining paying process how it would be.
For the price it was totally okay.

Recommended as a good start to a holiday here. Lots of useful background information given by a friendly and knowledgeable guide.
The only thing that would have improved things would have been a bit more interaction within the tour. Otherwise, great!
