The tour begins at the Trancoso Tourist Information Center and winds through the magnificent historic center, with a stop at the Chapel of São Bartolomeu.
We continue past the statues of King Dinis and Queen Santa Isabel, passing through the ancient Portas d’El Rei, one of the most iconic entrances to the city walls.
Along the way, we’ll explore the figure of the remarkable Bandarra and the impact of his prophecies, passing by his statue and the Casa do Bandarra, and we’ll visit the Isaac Cardoso Jewish Cultural Center, which is essential for understanding the town’s Jewish heritage.
We then continue to the Poço do Mestre and the Casa do Gato Preto, sites steeped in local history, as well as the Church of São Pedro and the Pillory, symbols of social and political life throughout the centuries.
