This tour will show you and tell about Center part of Riga and its most hidden gems - Courtyards. We would like to call this the most unique Free Tour in Riga.
Things to do Hidden Gems of Riga & Art Nouveau Free Tour
Center of Riga developed in the 19th and 20th centuries when Riga had lost status of a fortress. Industrial revolution leads to expansion of Riga beyond the Old Town. Great Riga Free Walking Tour on which we will explore places outside Old Riga in the part we call Center. On our way we will see Art Nouveau architecture, Boulevard circle, city parks, important historical monuments, and places of today’s importance. Big part of our tour will also be interesting stories about people that have put substantial effort in the development of our city. City that has been influenced by Baltic German, Latvian, Russian, Jewish and many other people and cultures. Join us to have a great time in exploring 19th and 20th century Riga. Tour will be educational and fun. After tour advice on what to do in Riga: where else to go, what else to see, where to eat and so on- all that is always shared with you guys.

“Gem of a Tour!”
Tomas, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and kept our group engrossed which I suggest was not easy since it was extremely cold being close to freezing all afternoon. He showed concern which was very much appreciated as I do feel the cold a lot and did struggle with the temperature. Everyone in the group was attentive which shows he was interesting to listen to. All in all, a very good guided tour and well done Tomas? (not sure of the spelling)

“More Gems and Less Art Nouveau”
Rita was a great enthusiastic guide, but we felt that the Art Nouveau section of the tour was too short. Because the starting point of the tour was the Opera, and a lot of time was sopent talking before we set off - we only reached the art Nouveau district for the final 30 minutes, when it was almost dark. The tour overran by 30 minutes. The tour was interesting but not well balanced - If it were titled Hidden Gems of Riga and a small glimpse of art nouveau it would have been more accurate

I did personally not liked the tour but you can see that it was very prepared.
But the guide was speaking when not everyone was there. The streets were too iced and ti was not making sense to run.

“An Excellent Tour”
Toms was an excellent guide- personable, knowledgeable and he had the ability to make everyone in the group welcome.
The tour itself was exceptional - we saw some amazing buildings and learnt about their historical context, The only downside for me was the weather- such a cold day to be outside, so one would need to wear warm clothes, and the weather is certainly beyond the tour’s control. The tour was worth the suffering! Thank you Tom’s!

It would have been nice to have been advised an hour beforehand as we rushed to get there on time!
I can’t really comment on how the tour would have been and since the review requires I fill in something, I gave a low score for organization and a average score for the rest.

“Interesting tour”
It's a tour that not only covers architecture, but also some basic facts about Latvia (felt a bit repetitive after already having done one tour, but great for a first overview). Janis, our guide, was humourous, funny and could tell us lots about different buildings and their style of architecture. 2h and 40min was the total duration, but there was a coffee break included. I felt that sometimes the information provided at some spots was pretty short and not that pertinent, but overall I still enjoyed the tour.

“The best tour guide i have met in europe”
Tom is the best! You can feel his passion and the eager to let you know about Riga’s beauty. He is not just an open book of Riga’s history, but with ways to present it lively. He brings everyone in and makes the team like friends.
You will know about the art nouveau architecture from the insider. The route is smooth and less tiring than expected, although it lasts for more than 2 hours.
Tip is optional but you will be grateful to have Tom in Riga and would like to translate the appreciation in $. Definitely recommend this tour!

My husband and I went on a tour with Toms who's a very knowledgeable, friendly, and funny guide. He kept us interested throughout the whole walk and told us about things we would not have paid attention to otherwise. It was a great walk with easily digestible information, some good laughs, and an easygoing atmosphere. Toms showed us a different side of Riga (which we loved), answered all our questions, and even recommended the best lunch spot ???? If you're wondering if this is the tour to sign up, yes, it IS.
