We had a great experience during our Art Nouveau tour! Our guide Marek was extremely nice and fun. He shared so many details about the Art Nouveau architecture with us and also some historical facts. We learned a lot of new things and were delighted to see the beautiful masterpieces of the architecture in Riga. “Flowers and Dogs' Ears”
This tour definitely made our day in Riga!!! There was a lot of historical and economical background information given, which is not that easily accessable. The tour was much more than just entertaining. James was really great and open to answer questions anytime. So we even got an idea why Latvians sometimes decorate dogs' ears with flowers! He just did not really seem to be prepated to disclose which his preferred cafes, restaurants and bars are ;-)

On art Nouveau 35-40 people is too much.The Group should have been split. Guide sounded knowledgeable, but arrogant and not pleasant to listen to. But probably difficult to manage so many people. We dropped out after some time and alles our own tour.

It was very interesting to know what is art nouveau, its origin, why it happened and some history of Latvia. Edward is a cool guy, answered all our questions patiently, good sense of humour. It was almost 2 hour walk. The architecture that we were shown was simply amazing. Enjoyed thoroughly, especially with no prior background in this subject.

For all those who love architecture, this is a great way to explore Riga. I loved this tour.
It is quite a new tour and hence I would recommend for some interiors to be included as well. That would make it so much more interesting. Staircases, rooms, etc. Overall was fantastic!

“Great guide”
Raymonda did a wonderful job with the Art Nouveau Architecture Tour on 5/26. The weather was horrible -- cold, cloudy, windy, with a few drizzles and our group was large -- about 40 people. Ratio da was upbeat throughout. Did an excellent job of describing the A.N architecture while blending in just the right amount of Latvian history and culture. She also did an excellent job re answering the many questions our tour group threw at her some of which ranged far afield from architecture. Raymonda's English was excellent -- virtually the same as a native speaker. Equally or perhaps more important, her projection was just as good as her English -- particularly critical given the windy conditions and the large size of the group that could easily have made it difficult to hear what a less effective speaker was saying.

The tour is a must do for everyone interested in architecture and furthermore for everyone who wants to understand the city a little bit better. The tour guide Kaspars has a wide knowledge about the buildings and Riga itself, and is always up for a chat between sights.
All in all a very pleasent and enjoyable experience. I really recommend.

“Interesting and informative”
The inaugural Art Nouveau Free Walking Tour was outstanding. Our guide, Kaspers, took us through the traditional art nouveau areas of Riga that appear on postcards of the city, but we also walked by buildings that many don't recognize as being art nouveau at all. His inclusion of the history and the players involved in the movement kept everyone's interest. I would recommend this tour to people who would like to know more not only about Riga and Riga's history but also want to know about the evolution of art nouveau.
We were a very large group and hopefully as the tourist season comes into full swing, their will be more guides and an ability to split into smaller groups.
