Plovdiv Old Town and Roman Ruins Walk

Our tour begins at the Roman Forum, the heart of ancient Philippopolis, where political, commercial, and social activities once flourished. Here, you'll admire the remnants of columns and arches that highlight Roman architectural brilliance. Next, we take a leisurely stroll through the tranquil Tzar Simeon Garden, established in 1892. Be captivated by the Singing Fountains, where enchanting water and light shows delight visitors, especially in the evening. We then visit the Roman Stadium, built in the 2nd century AD, which once accommodated over 30,000 spectators. Afterward, we explore the well-preserved Roman Amphitheater, offering breathtaking views of the city and mountains. This ancient venue continues to host concerts and performances, merging history with contemporary culture. Our journey proceeds through the cobblestone streets of the Old Town, unveiling beautifully restored houses and museums, with notable stops at the Ethnographic Museum and Balabanov House. We conclude our tour at the Church of St. Constantine and Helena, one of Plovdiv’s oldest churches, providing a fitting finale to our historical walking tour.
