Fantastic day, with an excellent guide called Pavel Very knowledgeable, excellent communication. Having been on the tour it made things easier to find when the tour had finished. It was a nice tour, the weather was great although it was March, the guide was a nice person but he spoke too softly. Sometimes, I couldn't hear what he said. Other than that it was OK but I can't say I was impressed.

“An enjoyable walk around Plovdiv”

The group meets at 11am daily outside the town hall. The walk is a 2 ½ hour stroll around Plovdiv covering all the main sights and some lesser known attractions. Our guide was entertaining and knowledgeable on the history of Plovdiv and happily discussed more recent political issues affecting Bulgaria. A thorough introduction to Plovdiv and a good base to explore some areas in more detail. Plovdiv is a super short break destination with a great mix of history, culture and entertainment.

“Not the best free walking tour”

We had the tour with Nenko and we were not quite satisfied with the provided content regarding Plovdiv. We visited many other free walking tours and this was definitely the worst. Nenko was saying a lot about the current political situation in the country (not only positive thing) which I think is not what tourists want to hear. Of course, we enjoyed Plovdiv. Amazing city!

As a foreigner living in Sofia, I had visited Plovdiv before at three occasions with family and friends including locals. It gave me an overview of what Plovdiv has to offer and knew it is a place to visit again and have visitors from abroad to visit as well. But the Free guided tour gave me much more insights and perspective in Plovdiv history. This is also thanks to our lively, enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide Tsvetlana, who did mot count her time to share with her knowledge of Plovdiv. So the tour took a little longer, for the benefit of all of us.

The guide doesnt matter about the kids and she was so arrogant and in hurry all the time, incredible. You should inform about the tour wasnt for kids too or that the group was about 40 people...not a good free tour with to many people.

We had a wonderful time on this walking tour of Plovdiv. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable about Bulgarian history, the city, interesting sights, and recommendations for further exploration and food. We worked our way from the city center along pedestrian walkways to Roman ruins and the old town. Everything was great and tied to the history of this interesting city. “If you do one thing in Plovdiv, this is it!”

Tsveta, our guide, was thoroughly knowledgeable and engaging. Even as a Bulgarian, who migrated as a political refugee abroad and has finally returned as a tourist, there was till so much I didn't know and learned about my homeland. She was also very diplomatic and tactful in the way she discussed controversial issues. "Bulgarians take arguing as a national sport" is something that my daughter is now convinced is in my blood LOL Plovdiv is a beautiful city and you will see so much on this tour. Do not miss this tour!

Our tour guide - Mila did an excellent job guiding us through Plovdiv and explaining the rich history of the city The tour itself is very well structured, short walks from stop to stop, and many shaded areas and cool places to sit down while Mila is telling us anecdotes and stories. We took the evening tour in June - the weather was a bit too hot, and definitely the noon tour wouldn't be a good idea. The group size was very good, not too many people. Mila tried to get the group to be a bit more interactive, and indeed many interesting questions were asked and answered so it felt like a special tour.

“Much more than just the Old Town.”

Plovdiv is so rich in history and beauty I can only imagine the challenge of whittling it to a two-hour walk, but the Free Tours folks did a wonderful job. At first view we assumed it would all be about the narrow cobblestone streets area called Old Town, but there is much more to see. In fact, Old Town is New Town compared to the Roman remnants. Now that we have been introduced it is time to go back and explore in more depth.

“Good intro to plovdiv”

Alexander with 365 who is very informative we spend the first 15 minutes talking about the history of Bulgarian plot and he was quite extensive. I saw some of the group getting rather bored and then we walked to the hyperdome via the statue of milo and what would’ve been the columns at the end of the hypodrome into the old town followed by the old town itself and ended up in the tour was about two hours and it does go uphill. Bring a bottle of water for summer as you be outdoors and protected from the elements of heat during the whole episode, generally informative and good introduction to plot, further explore you also give out the free plot little booklets which were rather helpful.
