Alongside our Spanish speaking guide, take a stroll through the streets and markets where the beating heart of Marrakech can be felt.
Head through the streets of Marrakesh trying to dodge the many motorcycles, donkeys and thousands of tourists and eventually we´ll reach at our own pace the Mellah quarters and some of the squares where every day the locals go to shop. Walk in front of the 16th century Badiaa palace and from there your tour guide will show you other monuments you may visit later like the Dar Si Said Palace and the Bahia Palace, built in the 19th century as a sumptuous residence for high-ranking leaders of that period.
As we take a walk through the city´s daily life, delve into the socio-cultural aspect of the local´s way of life and learn about the more interesting facts on the city, all on this walking tour packed with so much charm.
Moroccan Markets in Marrakech
Cross the Andalusí district, Riad Zitoune Jdid towards the second part of the tour. This district is one of the liveliest and leads into the traditional markets, known as the Greatest Souks of Marrakech where you will be able to smell and feel the city. Without a shadow of a doubt, this is one of the best memories of the city that you will take away, (see the copper and bronze artisans, the metal workers area and see the auction of skins, etc.)
At our own pace, stop to admire the outside of one of the religious centres in the city, the Ben Youssef Madrasa and its surrounding area featuring the mosque BenYoussef, the library, the Almoravid which features its dome Alkubba Almoravid and the Marrakech museum.
Cross the souk Rahba Laqdima, and head back to the meeting point along Jamaa El Fna, one of the cultural centres known for all its hustle and bustle on our destination.
