Tour of Sites of Repression and Resistance in Lyon

Discover places with an unexpected history as you stroll through Lyon’s most iconic sites of repression. This tour will allow you to explore the capital of the Resistance, as well as the hidden side of repression and Nazi collaboration. During this tour, which lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours, you’ll learn how Resistance fighters and Jews were arrested and treated in Lyon. You’ll learn where the Gestapo was based, how the Militia operated, and where interrogations and deportations took place. Along the way, you’ll learn about iconic figures—whether Resistance fighters or those responsible for the repression—as well as anonymous witnesses, victims, and key players. We’ll bring to life specific and sometimes little-known anecdotes that will help you understand how the war and the occupation transformed the face of Lyon.
