Vietnam is famous for its high peaks like the Fansipan Peak or the temples found all around the cities like the Temple of Literature or the old quarter. On postcards of Vietnam you´ll easily recognize Sapa´s Heaven Gate or the Mua Cave, places we will be able to enjoy on this tour or even Halong Bay but this is more than just the typical tourist tour.
Day 1. Night Journey to Sapa
Our first night is spent on the overnight bus, a chance to rest and admire the scenery until we reach Sapa.
Upon arrival, enjoy breakfast and soon after, the journey begins taking us to our Homestay in Tan Van a small village where the Zay ethnic people will show us around the heart of the terraced rice fields. Here, together with our guide, get ready to venture deep into the Vietnamese mountains far away from tourists.
Explore the enormous terraced rice fields following the river banks as far as the village of Lao Chai. Upon arrival at this small village, visit the local school and blend in with the atmosphere; enjoy lunch as you admire the spectacular views. Take in the warm welcome you get as you enter a traditional home in one of Vietnam´s richest cultures.
After lunch and getting some rest, continue trekking into the Lao Chai Valley as far as Ta Van. Among its small local houses learn everything there is to know about jewellery making or the locals´ clothes and the life they lead amongst mountains.
Return to your homestay and enjoy dinner with our H´mong family and the other co travelers. A chance to make a toast with a drink of rice wine in our hands and to enjoy some local traditional dishes.
Day 2. Jump to the waterfalls of Tha Bac
When sunrise creeps in over the rice fields, have breakfast and get ready for day two of the trip.
Head off to the highest valley for a dip in the Cat Cat Waterfalls which offers breathtaking views of the valley and the Thac Bac waterfalls. After a relaxing dip in its waters, cross the bamboo forest until we reach home where we will say our farewells over a family lunch and head back to Sapa. Once back at our destination we´ll have some free time to enjoy the city until it is time to return to Hanoi.
