Things to do Alternative Hike on Etna to the Bove Valley in Catania

An easy, relaxing, and complete walk on Etna! In this quiet and very pleasant experience, also suitable for families, you can enjoy some of the most beautiful attractions of Etna: nature, amazing landscapes, and the Bove Valley (a gigantic lava desert, 8 km long and 5 km wide). First, we will walk in the shade of pine and broom wood, typical Etna species. At first, the road will be uphill, then flat. After an hour of walking, between nature and a spectacular view of the Ionian Sea, we will reach the top of the route, at an altitude of 1970 meters. Once there, you will see an incredible landscape in front of you: Etna, the Bove Valley, the Ionian Sea and Calabria! There, words are useless. During the walk, I will tell you: - How Etna was born and how it developed over the course of history; - About Catania, its history, its culture, and its connections with Etna; - Sicily in general and all the information you need!

Mit Mirco habe ich einen schönen Spaziergang auf dem Ätna gemacht. Er erzählte uns etwas über seine Geschichte und zeigte uns einige Krater in der Nähe, bis er uns schließlich ins Valle del Bove führte und uns erzählte, wie es entstanden ist. Wiederholen!

“Tolle Wanderung fernab der touristischen Routen”

Wir haben eine tolle morgendliche Wanderung fernab der touristischen Routen mit Mirco erlebt. Gegen einen angemessenen Aufpreis holte er uns an unserer Unterkunft ab. Während der Fahrt haben wir mit ihm interessante Gespräche über alle möglichen Themen geführt und erste Eindrücke über die Wanderung und die Umgebung bekommen. Die Wanderung selbst war sehr angenehm. Zu Beginn geht es etwas bergauf, aber Mirco achtet darauf, dass man genügend Möglichkeiten zum Verschnaufen hat und nutzt diese, um Ausblicke zu zeigen und das Gesehene zu erklären. Alle Erläuterungen waren völlig ausreichend und nicht zu theoretisch/technisch. Am Tal angekommen bot sich ein toller Blick auf die Gipfel und das Valle del Bove. Mirco war ein wundervoller und angenehmer Guide, der uns ein beeindruckendes Erlebnis beschert hat!

“Angenehmer Spaziergang”

Der Tag war von Anfang bis Ende wundervoll. Unter einem wunderbar klaren Himmel nahmen wir den Aufstieg zur Schiena dell'Asino in Angriff, bis wir vor uns den Ätna in seiner ganzen Schönheit erblickten, aus dessen Kratern wir Rauch aufsteigen sehen konnten. Einfach wunderbar! Danke Mirco!

“Wunderschöner Spaziergang”

Mit Mirco hatte ich das Vergnügen, diesen wunderschönen Spaziergang entlang eines Pfades am Ätna zu unternehmen. Nachdem wir einen Wald durchquert hatten, hatten wir das Vergnügen, den Ätna in seiner ganzen Schönheit vor uns zu sehen! Eine Erfahrung, die man wiederholen sollte und die ich jedem empfehlen kann!

“Schön und entspannend!”

Wir machten einen etwa dreistündigen Spaziergang entlang des Pfades Schiena dell'Asino, von dem aus wir einen wunderschönen Blick auf den ausbrechenden Ätna und das Meer genießen konnten. Mirco ist sehr nett und sehr kompetent in seiner Arbeit. Danke schön!

“Vollständiger und informativer Spaziergang”

Wir haben diesen entspannenden Spaziergang auf dem Ätna mit Mirco gemacht und ich muss sagen, dass ich ihn sehr genossen habe, sowohl wegen der Bandbreite der Themen, die er angesprochen hat, als auch wegen der Tatsache, dass wir auf einem nicht sehr touristischen Weg gewandert sind und von dem aus wir das Meer bewundern konnten. “Sublime!”

Un paseo espectacular!! Mirco nos guio por el Etna dando la sensación de conocerlo como la palma de su mano. Nos comentó datos muy curiosos acerca de su evolución, su creación y las diferentes erupciones que ha habido. El lugar es precioso e impacta. Nos quedamos sin palabras. “Paseo por el Etna ”

El paseo alrededor del Etna ha sido precioso. Es una manera diferente de disfrutar del Etna, con unas vistas impresionantes del Valle del Bove. Mirco se adaptó perfectamente a nuestro ritmo ç,haciéndonos sentir muy cómodos desde el principio hasta el final del paseo. Sus explicaciones fueron muy detalladas y amenas. Super recomendable.

“Walk on Etna on a place where just locals go”

It was a fantastic way to discover the Etna. Mirco is a great guy and knows a lot about the volcano and the history of Sicily. We walked through a path where there was really, no one, it was just me, my wife and just 8 people scattered here on there on path. We enjoyed a lot our walk for this reason, because it was absolutely a no chaotic place, where mass tourism doesn't go. Recommended!

“Schöne Wanderung ”

Die Wanderung führte durch einen schönen Wald, nach kurzem Aufstieg gingen wir weiter, Mirco erzählte die Geschichte der Vulkanausbrüche und den Einfluss auf die Landschaft. Wir hatten einen imposanten Ausblick auf ein riesiges Lavafeld in einer Schlucht. Dort verweilten wir und konnten die Natur genießen. Mirco erzählte viel über die Vulkane auf Sizilien und Italien allgemein. Sehr empfehlenswert für alle die Entschleunigung suchen Abseits der Touristenmassen.

“Great experience ”

“Perfect off the beaten path tour”

This is the perfect tour to visit the Etnea without crowds of tourists. Mirco is a great and very knowledgeable guide. He picked us up close to our Airbnb and then guided us along an off the beaten path track while he provided us with a lot of information about the volcano, it’s history, flora and fauna! The views of the top, craters and valley were stunning! Can highly recommend the tour - thanks Mirco :-)

“Schiena dell'asino ”

El paseo sobre el Etna es genial, muy ameno y super completo. Mirco nos contó muchas curiosidades sobre el Etna, y nos dio mucha informacion, no solo hablando del volcan, tambien hablando de la historia, cultura y gastronomía local de Catania! Totalmente recomendable. Muchas gracias!
