This visit starts at the church's façade of the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus, dedicated to the Passion of Christ. The History behind this monument is very old and takes us to the 14th century. At the start of the tour, we'll brief you on its birth and evolution to the sanctuary we see today. This is a sanctuary, so in the past, it was a pilgrimage site, and then it was converted into a tourist site. Because of that, we have today the oldest funicular in the world that moves on the counterweight of water! We'll explain to you how it works.
