Do you like to experience historical areas, temples, and markets of Bangkok? On this free walking tour, you will discover and see localities of city life. What will you see and do? - The walking trip is led along the road of Mahachai Road to explain a former historical stories. - See some commercial houses or shop houses which are famous in the city about the food with international certification. - View from distance to a few landmarks of the city as well as decorative rooftops of a few local temples such as Golden Mount; Giant Swing; Wat Suthat and etc. - Scenic view from outside a local famous Buddhist temple. - Across the old moat to the location of former palace with a few short brief descriptive stories. - The ending spot will be either at the green lawn in front of a museum or a riverside depending on which day of the week. “Great 2h tour to get to know Bangkok”
We really appreciated the tour with Swai! We learned a lot about the history of Bangkok and walked by the most common sights of the old town but also got to see some places that we would not have found on our own. Great tour to start our trip to Bangkok, thank you!

35 people with only one guide is too much. Especially when the guide is badly organized and doesn’t speak very good English.The free tour bus was the best part of this tour. It’s the first time I actually leave a walking tour without paying.

Even though the guide was doing his best, the truth is that it was very difficult to understand , due to his english. We also felt that it was not very well structured and he did not engage the people. We did not get out of it what we were expecting or have gotten out of other tours done previously.

Although it was a very hot day and everybody was sweating, me and my boyfriend enjoyed the tour very much. The guide spoke very good english, explained a lot and very interesting things and repeated them so that I actually remember a lot. Thank you for that experience!! “Hard to understand”
I'm not an English native speaker, but I am fluent. I just couldn't understand the guide's English. Everything happens much faster than it should. He spoke quickly, strong accent. We also didn't have time to spend at the destinations. I suggest less walking and more time at each place. The guide should speak slower too, maybe.

“No too useful ”
The guide was nice but strong accent so unfortunateky difficult to understand. The details and info given were not too interesting, we were too much people (all in a line following him) and when he arrived to the spots started to speak without waiting the last ones to arrive so if you dont run after him you lose half of the explanation.

“Bankok oldtown tour”
The guide was very nice, but the environment was noisy due to constructions. The contents had brief history but not so relevant to current events, we went to a couple of temples and a city shrine but not too much details on the culture that I hope to hear more. Going through Chinatown would be a good route instead of going through the heavy construction areas.

“Good But Could've Been Better”
Swai is a great guide, his English is very good and he is funny too.
I think the meeting point for the tour could've been different, there was a lot of traffic getting there since you need to go through China Town. I'd recommend starting the tour at the palace instead (go backwards).
The content was good but sometimes boring, we didn't here much history and there wasn't a thorough enough explanation Regarding Buddhism and it's perception about different aspects. The dynasty of Thailand also wasn't thoroughly explained.
Could be nice adding a museum visit and would recommend explaining about Bangkok using a map to tell where we should go and where we shouldn't.

“Nice giude but medium Tour ”
Even if the guide was a really nice person, the tour was not good at all. It was at 2 o clock in the afternoon, which in bangkok its a very hot time !We didn't learn much about Bangkok's history or thailand culture, and we didnt see particulary city spot.
The guide was really kind though, and he made a great efford to speak english!

“Don’t waste your time on this tour”
I won’t recommend to anybody this tour because I see no use in information about the order of the Kings of Thailand instead of stories about the architecture, the city or the country. The bonus was Thai English of our guide that was unreal to understand. Sorry.

“Great Tour and very nice tour guide!”
Our guide Swapi has been very nice and friendly.
He told us many interesting stories and anecdotes about Banglok and it's people. He also adjusts his tour depending on what you would like to see most - we asked for great pad Thai places and Swapi showed us the best. We even stopped for coffee, Durian and tried street food along the way (this is up to your personal wishes)
Only recommendation would be to shorten the part about the Kings history - in Bangkoks heat it is hard to follow :)
Highly recommend to book with Swapi if you want to get to know Bangkok from a different side. My personal highlight was the flower market!

Great intro to get to know the city. Swai suggests common tourist places to go and tells funny/interesting stories about the neighbourhood.
However, the walking tour was mostly through busy traffic, but that is Bangkok/Krung Thep ;)

Times are tough with Covid in Thailand but we were fortunate enough to have Swai personally tour us through some of Bangkok’s hidden gems. Swai was very organised and took us to many places we wouldn’t have ever stopped at. It was a well timed, personal tour and would recommend to anyone (even during the quieter pandemic times.)
