Visit the picturesque city of Aveiro aboard one of its typical Moliceiros boats, passing through the canals of the Portuguese Venice. Do not miss it out!
Our visit begins at R. João Mendonça 9, 3800-200 Aveiro, where our guide will be waiting for you, and the journey will start. During the 45-minute trip, you will be able to see some of the most characteristic features of Aveiro, accompanied by the explanations of our local guide who, in addition to the history of the city and its canals, will tell you secrets and curiosities. Our guides will explain everything about the Moliceiro and the Mercantel traditional boats. We will pass through the fishermen's neighborhood, the Beira Mar neighborhood, the oldest in Aveiro where some of the typical fishermen's houses are preserved, and we will also see the traditional salt warehouses. We will pass through the Ceramic Factory of Jernoymo Pereira Campos. This red-brick factory and industrial style contrasts with the Art Nouveau of the buildings on the estuary, which is where the Aveiro Congress Center is currently located. The Carcavelos Bridge will remind us of Venetian bridges or the curious Ponte Laços de Amizade, which is known as the bridge of lovers, and it is full of ribbons of all possible colors with messages of love.
