“Walking tour”
El tour fue bastante básico. Me habría gustado mayor profundización sobre la arquitectura y datos curiosos de la ciudad. El guia que atendió mi tour estaba bien; sin embargo, el guia que atendió en inglés estaba borracho y me llegó a incomodar, es importante que tengan mayor cuidado de a quien contratan para no poner en peligro a los visitantes.

O guia ficava o tempo todo no WhatsApp conversando com outras pessoas parecia muito desinteressado não contou as coisas direito pra gente não levou a gente em lugares para contar uma história realmente relevante achamos muito ruim a metodologia dele e ele não parecia estar satisfeito de estar ali então não sei porque que ele é um guia né já que ele não quer fazer esse trabalho.

Asignaron un guía suplente, Mario, quien no genero entusiasmo ni interés. Comentarios subjetivos e información inexacta con respecto a las atracciones de la ciudad.

The tour and the explanation were quite good; the guide knew what he was talking about. The problem, and what bothered me a bit at the end, is that at the end of the tour, the mandatory tip was a minimum of $10, which doesn't make sense. If the tour is free and based on tips, they shouldn't set $10 as the minimum tip. That bothered me somewhat.
If you want $10 for the tour, then charge $10. Don't advertise a free tour if your final fee is $10.
El tour y la explicación fueron bastante buenos; el guía sabía de lo que hablaba. El problema, y lo que me molestó un poco al final, es que al final del tour, la propina obligatoria era de un mínimo de $10, lo cual no tiene sentido. Si el tour es gratuito y se basa en propinas, no deberían fijar $10 como propina mínima. Eso me molestó un poco.

Lamento dejar un comentario negativo, ya que los guías que me han tocado han sido siempre buenos pero en este caso el guía Galileo, el servicio fue malo.
A los dos minutos de empezar nos llevó a una agencia privada para contratar tours, cinco minutos después a un restaurante que nos recomendó mucho (que no tenía nada especial) y para acabar en el museo del jade donde vendían joyería.
El contenido fue muy básico y además con algunas informaciones que no eran correctas. La mitad del tour fue caminar por la ciudad detrás de él sin darnos información.
Una hora antes de que acabara la visita ya queríamos irnos ya que claramente estábamos perdiendo el tiempo.

Ramiro was a very friendly guide. He took us around a few interests points of the city and made sure to mention the history of every spot and a few fun fact about each one. We truly felt like we had learn something! Exploring the city was easier afterwards. Ramiro also gave us a few food recommendations and the names of a few typical Guatemalan meals. He even bought us banana bread!!! Just awesome!

“Great Knowledge, not what I was looking for ”
we went on a tour with Nelson on a Thursday morning and he was so knowledgeable on everything that happened in the city and all of the cities history. However, I wasn’t really looking for a city/architecture tour. I was looking more for a common landmarks tour. Our tour was in English and no spoken English very well and understandably. I highly recommend doing this tour if the subject is something that you would be interested in.

I am sorry to say that but I was disappointed. First of all, I find it very unprofessional to not inform tourists that nobody from Freetour will appear and we should join Guru walk. The Guru walk tour was quite boring, it was just walking from one historical place to another. The information consisted mostly from the numbers what happened and when. I expected more enthuiasm, more information about politics, culture, local food and habits. I have been on many Freetours and this one was weak. The guide was nice guy, had good English and remembered everything by heart. Many questions were not answered. I am sorry for this review as I loved all other free tours I’ve been to before.

Hugo was a very nice guide with very knowledgeful content about spanish, centro american history, and told us a lot about Antigua and its history - can highly recommend it. Also Hugo speaks good English. He also asked at the end, if we want to go to a Jade museum, where we also got a little tour by the museum with the option to buy something, however noone was pushing to buy something and everything is optional!

“Excellent history and architecture lesson”
This guide really knew what he was talking about and he made it all very interesting with little stories thrown in. He took us through the history of Antigua, century by century through its architecture. He also tied what was happening in Europe and especially Spain in with what was happening in Guatemala. The only problem we had was finding him at the beginning of the tour, but once we found him, we loved him!

We had a very interesting tour with Nelson. The meeting location and time we're good and we started learning about jade in the Maya culture. The rest of the tour was very interesting about the evolution of Mayan after Spanish invasion and the changes of architecture within time in Different buildings in Antigua.
