Things to do Antigua Guatemala & Its Free Coffee Tour

Since 1800, coffee has been the country’s main agricultural product, and since 1915, its quality has been recognized worldwide. The tour begins in the heart of the city: the central park, surrounded by the Cathedral of Santiago, the Palace of the Captains-General, and City Hall. We’ll also walk along Calle del Arco, the most photographed street in Antigua—it’s the quintessential postcard view of the country. The tour continues to some of the city’s most iconic sites, such as La Merced and Santa Clara. Halfway through, we’ll take a break to enjoy a cup of authentic Antigua coffee grown among the Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango volcanoes. While sharing our coffee, we’ll also discuss the journey the beans take from farm to cup. We’ll wrap up the tour by appreciating something unique to Antigua: the coexistence of the colonial and the contemporary. And so the tour concludes: history, architecture, and coffee intertwined in every corner of Antigua Guatemala.
