They conquered all the boundaries of this small country, and in the 14th century, when French King Philip the Fair accused the Templar Knights of being pagans, it didn’t happen in Portugal. Our King D. Dinis recognized their help in building the kingdom and only changed their name and symbol from the Templar Knights to the Order of Christ. That’s why the castle in Tomar belongs to the Templar Knights, but the convent is already part of the Order of Christ.
