Things to do The Hidden Beauty of the City Center of Thessaloniki
In the city center walk, they are shown mainly places, and they are told stories that cannot be found in guidebooks or discovered easily. We also discuss how the city originated, some of its main monuments, contemporary life in the city, and many other stories that are hidden behind buildings and walls. We walk very slowly, making many stops, and we realize that Thessaloniki is not what it appears to be, but what it hides. Ultimately, numerous recommendations are provided for food and hidden gems.

We took the tour with Stephanie.
She's nice and took us to a few interesting places, but in whole the tour was disappointment: She would put the group for explanations in very noisy spots so we could barely heard any of the information. I don't know if megaphone is not allowed in the city, but she could show us the places and then stand in a more quiet spot for the explanations. We felt so uncomfortable until (for the first time since we took free walking tours around the world) we had to leave the tour in the middle. Such a pitty.
2 days prior to that we had a great tour with Giorgio to the Upper City and it was one of the best we had.

We truly enjoyed the tour with Giorgos.
Giorgos managed to keep the entire group engaged for a full three hours in a very interesting way. The stories about the old part of the city, presented in historical chronology and intertwined with elements of the present day, were truly fascinating to listen to.
His knowledge of the details, storytelling style, and the attention he gave to each participant individually, as well as to the whole group, are truly commendable.
Highly recommend this tour.

“Nice guide, boring tour”
I'm a tour guide in my hometown myself and must say that I was a bit disappointed. The tour was NOT 2:30, but 2:05 hours long.
The guide was very nice, but we made maybe 5 stops only and most of the time we sat somewhere and he talked much, instead of showing us around. He even said jokingly "This is more a sitting tour than a walking tour!" There were statues and buildings that we walked by and he didn't say anything about them. About many things he sad "You can go there on your own!" A bit more walking and showing around and less sitting and just talking would have been nice. I did tours in MANY cities the past 25 years and usually the guides walk way more and really show things. It felt more like a school class that is sitting around listening to the teacher.
