The upper town (ano poli) is the most beautiful area of the city! We stroll, with many stops in the upper town, discovering the hidden places and revealing the hundreds of stories behind us. We speak about Greek music, Greek mythology, Jewish history, Turkish history, and other topics. We finish very close to the best view of the city, where there are bus stops and a taxi piazza. To go down where we started or the city center, it takes around 15 minutes on foot. At the end of the tour, many recommendations about food and hidden gems are given! It was a lovely tour. We learned a lot and had a lot of fun! It was kind of cold and windy but the tour guide was very kind and adapted the tour a little bit so most of the standing and listening was inside churches, the sun or just non windy places. The music he played was really lovely as well and he made everyone feel really comfortable. Thanks so much and I would recommend this tour to anyone.

the guide was really nice. but it was really cold day and that made it hard to concentrate. it was also longer than was written 3.1 hours instead of 2.5 so that was also a problem.

“Truly amazing ”
The Old Town Thessaloniki tour with Giorgos was the best free walking experience I have ever had… until we took The Upper Town tour, which was equally or maybe even more beautiful! I can truly recommend it - to understand a city, its people, to (literally) hear its music played by Giorgios - it is definitely experience worth having when in Greece! We even shortened our visit to Meteora from 2 to 1 day to be able to participate in the Upper Town Thessaloniki Tour and as crazy as it sounds, it was worth it (although Meteora is one of the most beautiful places in the world ), so you can imagine how good is this experience.

“Excellent Tour Guide ”
This tour was really fantastic. Apparently, there are tours of different neighborhoods/areas in Thessaloniki and I got to explore one that I hadn't considered exploring. My advice would be to bring water and snacks! This you're is very long and it's gets warm. There is a stop for water along the way but if you don't bring your own, you will regret it. I also experienced a SHARP drop in energy in the last half hour since I'd skipped breakfast and really was not able to process much of the info he shared past that point, which is really a shame. If you come prepared, there is really a lot to learn and some absolutely beautiful sights to see. 100% recommend!

Quite an experience Giorgos provided. Saying I just witnessed one of the best walking tours I have seen doesn't do it full justice somehow. Giorgos is a local who seems to live & breathe his city. All the knowledge we got about the upper city of Thessaloniki aside, he manages to share it in a way that is not just fun but also thought-provoking. One can only hope to find a place to call their home the way Giorgos feel about Thessaloniki. And that genuine love for his city is more than evident in his storytelling. The tour waa incredibl! George waa such a incredible guide! The passion he has for the city is felt with every word that came out of hia mouth it was infected! The he was able to compose a beautiful symphony of highly detailed greece history and current time history was just divine.
So many hidden gems and beautiful view of the city and sea.
The tour is UP THE HILL but you almost don’t feel it cauae thwir ao much to see.
Bring some water and hungry senses because you are in for a treat!

“Great Thessaloniki experience with real Greek!”
Giorgios may not be the best tour guide in the world, but he definitely knows his part about Thessaloniki and Greece! Great sense of humor and he's so open to other people that walking with him for 6 hours was a pleasure. After City Center part we decided to take his tour to Annopoli and we also had a great time.
Besides talking about the city or sightseeing, he shared his favourite restaurants around the city (saving us hours of research) and some facts about current socio-cultural situation in Greece. He was open to discussions with participants on various topics, which is not common in Greece.
In my opinion City Center was a bit more interesting than Annpoli. Like 10/10 and 9/10.

It was surely different than the city centre one, but it doesn't mean that it was worse in any way. Giorgos described many things, from history of the town to Greek music. Our guide Giorgos was amazing, we have our tour for almost 3 hours, he knows a lot about the history of thessaloniki and also about history in general, the tour was 3 hours but we didn't feel it because was really interesting and pleasent. I found remarcable about Giorgos was he remember nearly everybody name and the same time he plays the greek instrument buzuki, definitely. If you want to know about thessaloniki go with Giorgios!

“Enriching experience ”
I enjoyed very much this tour and Giorgios is an amazing storyteller. I got an immersive experience of the old neighbourhood and its rich history and culture. Go prepared with comfortable footwear and a full stomach as there is a lot of uphill walk during the almost 3 hours of tour. Highly recommend it if its your first time to the city.

“Super Amazing Toure”
George was an amazing guide! He really got an answer to every question we asked and was really motivated. On every stop it was interesting to learn something new about Thessaloniki (not just the upper town). He had an amazing charisma and included everyone in the toure. He remembered not just the names of all group members, he also included the connected history of the countries present to Thessaloniki. The Tour was really individuell and funny. Personally I recommend to take a tour at the beginning of the vacation, so you got time to revisite some places.
He also got recommendations for food and other travel places.
