No boring tourist traps here, just real streets, real stories, and real Thessaloniki. We’ll kick things off at the old city walls with incredible views of the city, then wander past ancient ruins, the epic Rotunda, and Galerius’ Palace, yep, Romans were here too. Next stop? The White Tower and a walk by the sea. I’ll show you local hangouts, street music corners, and those spots you won’t find on Google. “Tour of Thessaloniki”
We really enjoyed our tour with Iordanis and it was a great way to get our bearings and an idea of the layout of the city. Nice balance of history and foodie content. Sunset at the White Tower was lovely. Loads of useful info shared after the tour around places to visit, restaurant and bar recommendations etc. It is a lot of walking and a long tour so would be good to build a toilet break into it.

“A good way to learn about Thessaloniki”
A fun and informative tour of the city of Thessaloniki. Our guide Iordanis knows his city very well and since we were only a small group, he took time to give detailed explanations about the different places he took us to, about the most famous monuments but also about the hidden historical gems such as the archeological founds inside the metro station. To some people 2,5 hours might sound like quite a long tour but it's definitely worth it.

“Nice tour, yet with some improvements it can go a long way”
We were a couple joining a small group. Together we went a long distance and saw many points in about 3 hours. The tour was interesting, but could have been better if:
1. If the guide could show some maps or pictures from the old times.
2. Our guide was a fast walker and it seemed that for some people from our group it was tough to keep the pace.
3. The English was a little difficult for us to understand, but in the 2nd half of the tour we understood better, maybe we got used to it.

Highly recommended the tour guide and the tour, it was 3 hours of relevant information and we saw everything what we wanted to see. He recommended a lot of food places and gave suggestions on what to do around towards the end of the trip.

“Very interesting and full of ideas”
Iordanis did a great job when explaining the different places we saw and the stories or rumors behing them. Ar the end of the tour he also sent a lot of suggestions to visit or places for eating.
The tour is a long walk so comfy shoes and clothes are needed.

“A great start to our visit to Thessaloniki ”
This was a two and a half hour tour of the city with Iordanis leading the way. We were a small group (5) which meant we could easily hear what he was interestingly explaining with humour about the city, its environs, inhabitants and key places to revisit during our stay. There is a lot of ground to cover so wear comfortable shoes and do take water. At the end of the tour Iordanis provided each of us with links to useful places to visit, eat etc. Well worth while as an excellent orientation of the city centre.

“VERY NICE TOUR”
The tour was very nice and interesting, and the guide was very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed Thessaloniki. The tour was comprehensive; we saw the main attractions, but we rushed through everything. Since we only had one day to visit the city, we would have liked to have had a few more minutes to visit Agia Sofia, which we only saw from the outside.

Our guide was absolutely outstanding. He was clear, concise, and incredibly focused throughout the tour, which made it easy to stay engaged from start to finish. His deep knowledge of Thessaloniki’s history, culture, and architecture really brought the city to life — offering context that went far beyond surface-level facts.
What really stood out was how much ground we covered, both literally and intellectually. From ancient ruins to Ottoman influences and modern-day life, every stop was packed with interesting insights. Despite the huge area we explored, the tour never felt rushed or overwhelming — a testament to his thoughtful pacing and organization.
He also had a great sense of humor, which kept the tour light and enjoyable while still being rich in information. Always approachable, always entertaining, and clearly passionate about the city — this was easily one of the best walking tours I’ve ever done.

Our tour with Iordanis was a good experience, especially because we got a great overview of the many interesting places that Thessaloniki has to offer. He is definitely a friendly guy with much knowledge about the city and local traditions, and had many good recommendations in the end.
Unfortunately the tour for us felt a bit rushed and unstructured with many short stops with always a bit of (partly random) information. He was almost running through the streets, sometimes sharing information when not everyone had yet arrived and continuing to walk while he hadn’t really finished and often leaving no time for questions.
So in general it was a bit hard to process the information and we would’ve preferred fewer stops at the most important places with structured and detailed information, more time for questions and a slower walking pace.
But that is just our personal feeling, and it’s nevertheless a good way to get an impression of different sites of this great city with a nice local guide!

“Insight into history”
Thanks for a detailed and very informative tour around Thessaloniki. We got to know so many valid points of the Roman involvement in the city plus an overview of the Jewish community. The contact to local and traditional print and bead makers was fantastic. I would only suggest to find some benches to be able to sit down and listen properly to Iordanis better. Our guide Lordanis was knowledgeable and passionate about the city’s rich history. He brought us go around ancient monuments like the Rotunda, the White Tower, and the Roman Forum to life with fascinating stories and insights. I especially appreciated how he connected historical facts with modern-day culture and daily life in Thessaloniki.
And he made some jokes about ‘Lazy Greek’ in a good way & perfect timing.
He also shared us some great local recommendations for food and coffee spots!
In the end, he caught the good timing to enjoy the sunset while walking along the Old Port side.

“Wonderful Walking Tour”
I had a wonderful time doing the walking tour with Iordanis! He definitely knows what’s he’s talking about and the pace is ideal so you can take photos but don’t have to wait all the time. Learned a lot about Thessaloniki, its history and what’s happening more recently. He gives good recommendations regarding events and food or whatever you’re interested in. Highly recommended!

Really nice walking tour! Full of histories and nice energy. I Had a great time, walking, talking, stopping for water break. Iordanis give a nice tips where to eat, where to buy things. Bring us to nice local supermarkets with local culture. Amazing histories and companionship. Plus nice sunset, gardering and bars and restaurants tips.
