Things to do Rome’s History and Architecture Unveil

We will start the tour at Piazza della Pilotta and then head to the fantastic Trevi Fountain, where I will tell you all about its history closely related to the oldest still-functioning aqueduct of the Roman era. Then, we’ll visit one of the most beautiful Liberty-style galleries, still little known to tourists. We will talk about ancient Rome as we explore the majestic Column of Marcus Aurelius and the impressive Temple of Hadrian. Next, we’ll admire one of the most stunning Baroque basilicas, featuring the amazing frescoes of the Jesuit Andrea Pozzo. Of course, we can't miss one of the best-preserved temples of Roman architecture: the Pantheon. I’ll reveal the secrets of Etruscan-Roman engineering near the remains of Nero’s Baths. From there, we’ll reach the highest expression of the Baroque, Piazza Navona. We’ll greet the Talking Statue and continue to Palazzo della Cancelleria, where, on February 8, 1600, the philosopher Giordano Bruno was sentenced to death at the stake. Finally, we’ll visit one of the medieval boroughs of Rome and the famous Passetto del Borgo, where the saying “Come cerca Maria per Roma” was born in the beautiful Campo de' Fiori.
