This tour is a great idea! You get to order what you want and don't have to try things that you don't like. We loved Monti Street, and there were only 4 of us on a drizzly January evening. Bruno has lived here forever, and was very informative. He took us to some excellent places. We stopped at 4 food places and all of them were great! The first place was pizza and crocchette, but they were out of suppli. Other than that, It was perfect because you could ask for a tiny piece of pizza and you were charged by the weight! At the 2nd place, dessert was suggested, so we all tried sweet baked items. I wish we had more savory items at this point. The 3rd place was a little confusing. We weren't sure if we were supposed to try the different cheese and sausages set out until after we'd been there a while. It was a little awkward in the small shop. The 4th place was the gelateria with more sweet desserts. No one ordered anything here because we needed more savory items at this point, and it was too cold for gelato. In between the 4 food places, Bruno took us by several other interesting places in Monti. We had a great time, but I was actually hungry at the end. I ended up spending €10 on food and €10 on a tiny bottle of pistacio cream.
My suggestions:
1)Guide should speak louder or wait until everyone is together to speak, since he was walking and talking.
2)Not be so serious, crack a few jokes and try to entertain the crowd a little.
3)Go to the restaurants ahead of time and make sure they're not out of important items. If so, take the tour to another location where the item is available. (Have a back-up plan.) We never got to taste suppli
4)Be sure to show attendees what to taste, because we were not given the opportunity to taste a chinotto or Gassosa even though it was in the tour description. (Guide may have explained them to us while walking, but we never got to see or taste them.)
5)Let attendees know when there is time to order a drink. I would have liked to have a drink somewhere (not just a taste of pistachio cream).
6)When walking into via de Capocci 51, guide should tell attendees what they can taste here because it's a little confusing since it's not a restaurant.
7)Guide should give taste suggestions and tell what his favorites are because tourists are needing suggestions.
