We'll meet at the entrance of the Row NYC hotel at 5:00 am to start the tour to Washington and Philadelphia from New York. From here we will depart by bus to the capital of the United States, where we will visit the most important and representative commemorative, historical, and military monuments in history.
As we will get up very early, we will make a rest stop in the state of Delaware to have breakfast and stretch our legs, before arriving in Washington.
Before entering the city, we will pass by the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, which is located in the state of Virginia. It is a 12-story building in the shape of a Pentagon and built during the Second World War, currently being the largest office building in the world and one of the targets in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
We will first stop at the Iwo Jima Memorial, one of the most iconic sculptures in the world. It is a military monument dedicated to all the United States Marines who died defending this country since 1775. From the bus you will be able to appreciate the Arlington National Cemetery, one of the largest military cemeteries in the world. Here we will go down to take pictures.
Then we will go to Memorial Park. There we will walk accompanied by our guide through the places that have been the scenes of movies and series and we will visit, among other emblematic monuments, the Obelisk of Washington, the tallest structure in the city.
Our next stop will be at the White House. After contemplating the official residence of the President of the United States from the outside, we will stop at El Capitolio. Here we will get off the bus to take photos.
After this, we will head to Philadelphia, a journey that lasts approximately three hours plus the time of a stop for lunch. Already in Philadelphia, we will walk along the oldest street in the country, we will pass by the Christ Church Cemetery and we will contemplate two icons of the city from the outside: the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. You will also be able to see a Masonic Center, JFK Park or better known as the Park of Love, we will tour the street of flags, and we will make a stop at the Philadelphia Museum of Art where one of the most famous scenes in cinema is located, the stairs where the movie Rocky was shot.
Back in NY we will make an extra stop in New Jersey where we will have the panoramic view of Manhattan illuminated as in the postcards. Are you up for this excursion to Washington and Philadelphia from New York?
