Get up close to the Statue of Liberty and discover the history of America's symbol of freedom.
Travel by ferry to Liberty Island and admire the views of New York Harbor.
Board this ferry to the Statue of Liberty and enjoy the sights exactly as the immigrants coming to America did, without the stress of having to move country. Take it as a moving meditation on the nature of American ideals, besides enjoying the boat ride!
After crossing the Atlantic avec amour in 1886, the Statue of Liberty stands today in front of New York Harbor. Marvel at this monument with this ferry to the Statue of Liberty from Battery Park.
Once you arrive on the three acres (just over 1 ha) of land on Liberty Island, you will have the opportunity to walk around the entire statue and hear the history of this monument through an audio guide. Statue of Liberty tickets are not included.
From the island you will be able to see the imposing monument, a symbol towards a great step, the end of slavery, represented by the breaking of its chains. France, in fact, sent the statue as a gift one year after slavery was abolished in the U.S. You can admire its imposing figure and if you look down you can see the broken chains at its feet.
Take this walk, see these landmarks up close and keep in mind the quote from Lady Liberty's book, which says, "Give me your tired, your poor, your overcrowded multitudes yearning to breathe in freedom..."
You will be grateful to enjoy the freedoms and opportunities you have in life, and you will also be glad you made the decision to make the visit.
