The tour starts in Piazza del Plebiscito, located in the heart of the city, with an area of about 25,000 square meters. The square is surrounded by some of the most important historical buildings in Naples: the Royal Palace, the Basilica of San Francesco di Paola (one of the largest Italian churches of the Neoclassical period) and the Teatro di San Carlo, which opened on November 4, 1737, making it the oldest active opera house in the world. We will also see the Galleria Umberto I.
We then continue to Piazza del Municipio, one of the most important squares in the city because of its proximity to artistic landmarks such as the Maschio Angioino, Via Toledo and the port. We then cross the lower decumanus, known as Spaccanapoli, one of the city's most significant streets.
