Join me for a relaxing walk through Merano and discover its hidden charm! Stroll the spa promenade, explore arcades and shops, and take in stunning views. Let’s create a personalized and unforgettable experience together!
We start our tour at the Kurhaus, the magnificent Art Nouveau building directly on the Passer.
Just a few steps further on, we stroll along the Passer Promenade, one of the four historic promenades along the river. The Passer rushes by on the left, while palm trees, cypresses, and flowering gardens line our path on the right.
A short detour takes us to Laubengasse, Merano's oldest shopping street. The medieval arcades not only offer shade as you stroll, but also a view of small boutiques, South Tyrolean specialty stores, and charming cafés.
Continue to the Merano Thermal Baths, a modern contrast to the historical backdrop. With over 20 pools, saunas, and views of the mountains, it is now the new center of well-being.
Don't forget to take a look at the parish church of St. Nicholas, whose tower sits proudly above the old town.
Finally, it is worth taking a walk along the Tappeinerweg, one of the most beautiful high-altitude promenades in Europe. The best of two worlds merge here: alpine mountain air and Mediterranean vegetation.
