From the city center you will reach the Murgia Materana by shared transfer and access the reserved area of Murgia Timone thanks to the included entrance ticket. Accompanied by a licensed guide, you will explore one of the most fascinating landscapes of the Matera area, including scenic trails, natural caves, traces of the Neolithic village and evidence of the first human communities that inhabited this area. Along the way you will visit the Crypt of San Falcione and the rock church of Madonna delle Tre Porte, famous for their Byzantine frescoes and their historical and spiritual value. You will also pass through the Golgotha area, chosen by Mel Gibson for some scenes in the film The Passion of the Christ, before reaching the Belvedere of Murgia Timone. From here you will be able to admire one of the most iconic views of the Sassi of Matera, made even more evocative by the light of sunset.
